Stonebwoy is close to signing an impressive record distribution deal with VP Records, one of the biggest record labels in the Reggae/Dancehall music genre, Graphic.com.gh reports.

Manager of Stonebwoy Carl Digiglo in an interview with Showbiz on Friday, said negotiations to sign the distribution deal were far advanced and both parties are still working on finalising contractual issues after which there would be an official announcement from VP Records.

“We are done with our end of the paperwork and are currently waiting for VP Records to get back to us. When that’s done, they will release an official statement to the public and the media,” he said.

He added that although the partnership would be long term, the current contract would be for an initial period of three years after which both parties would possibly renew their collaboration for an extended length of time.

Some artistes signed by VP Records include Sean Paul, Ja Cure, Busy Signal, Beenie Man, Patoranking and a host of others.

Carl observed that the potential partnership with VP Records was a recognition and testament to how far the Bhim Nation brand had come in the industry.

“It’s a big deal to be recognised by one of the biggest players in the Reggae/Dancehall industry. It shows how far we have come and such a distribution deal means Stonebwoy’s music now gets to reach an even wider audience than ever before. It shows we are on the right path,” he said.

He revealed that as part of Stonebwoy's 'Go Higher' tour, the Dancehall artiste would be embarking on a tour of Europe.

He attributes the success Stonebwoy has achieved recently to the support from the Bhim Nation fans.

“There is no way we could have achieved any of these without the love and support from our fans and the media. We ask that they continue to support us in the future as they have always done and we promise that there is more in store for them.”
