Highlife act poised to take over from Daddy Lumba and R2bees

Fast rising Highlife musician, Ntakra, is poised to take the Highlife mantle from one of the hottest Ghanaian groups, R2bees and the legendary Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba.

The talented vocalist in an interview revealed that, Daddy Lumba and R2bees are his mentor and the greatest Highlife musicians the industry has produced, thus, the need to take the mantle from them.

“Daddy Lumba and R2bees are two of the greatest Highlife acts the industry has produced and they are my mentor too. Considering my talent, I think I am the best candidate to take over from them whenever they decide to completely retire from the music,” determined Ntakra stated.

Ntakra, who was also groomed by Hammer of Last 2 Records continued to disclose that though he may not possess the same talent Daddy Lumba and R2bees have, he still believes he’s gotten the skills and expertise to produced more contemporary Highlife songs and probably become one of the greatest Highlife acts.

“Though I don’t have the same talent or sing like them, I strongly believe my abilities can match that of theirs. I believe I will become one of the greatest Highlife artistes in Ghana. I have the talent, skills and expertise to achieve this,” he revealed.

The “Oyonkuo” hitmaker further revealed his plans for the year 2016. According to him, fans should expect surprising singles and collaborations from him including a musical concert in his area – Taifa, Accra.

“I will release a couple of singles this year. I am also working with a few artistes to organize a concert at Taifa, Accra where I live. I will be called ‘Taifafest’ -- an annual music festival that will focus on bringing the top notch acts to the area to entertain the youth,” he concluded.
