Dancehall star Samini has said he sign new female Dancehall artiste unto his High Grade Family label soon.
According to him, “Kaakie was the first female ‘to buss’ from the family and she’s now mainstream; so we need to launch a new face unto the scene. So y’all should watch out for a new female Dancehall artiste from High Grade Family,” Samini says.
Noted for grooming and mentoring several acts in the country, the MOBO award winner urged young talents, especially the ones who want to pursue music as a career, to “stay in school, stick to their books and try their best to finish their courses before veering into the music industry. It’s good to have the talent but it’s good to have yourself educated in school as well.”
Speaking about his past Samini said "we would skip class which I'm not telling any of you listening to do but we skip class and go and chase the sound wherever it is."
He concluded by saying "no matter how hard you are drawn towards the arts try as much as possible to finish your books, if you are a B student finish with straight Bs and if you are an A student do to it for you."
