“I am optimistic of winning artiste of the year award” – Wisa.
The “Ekikimi” hitmaker made his breakthrough in 2016 after releasing a couple of hit tracks.
Wisa believes his impact on the music scene in the year under review should be enough to see him win the coveted Artiste of the Year award.
The artiste insists his songs did well “not only in Accra or any capital region, but also in all the villages and in the rest of the country”.
Wisa has sometimes been criticized for using profane words in his songs – something the board of the awards scheme are very critical about.
However, he insists those aspect of his songs have been curtailed.
“Well, as a Hip-life musician I have worked very hard this year and a big yes I’m extremely optimistic of winning artiste of the year award,” Wisa is quoted as saying by www.dailyviewgh.com.
“All the songs I dropped last year didn’t have any line of profanity to suggest I’m informing the youth or my fans wrongly. But they are rather entertaining and motivational lyrics that inform and educate the country and the world at large.
“I really respect the organizers of the VGMA’s and expect them to do the right thing by awarding those who clearly deserve the awards.”
