Okyeame Kwame to kick out hepatitis in Kumasi

This year’s project is under the theme ‘’Lets kick hepatitis out of Ghana’’  and is slated to take place at the Prempeh Assembly hall on the 1 of August, days after the world marked World Hepatitis Day.

Ghana’s versatile and decent rapper, Okyeame Kwame is set to add more to the score sheet as he screens and vaccinate people against hepatitis in Kumasi.

The project, which is in collaboration with MDS-Lancet Laboratories is the seventh in the series of a campaign that began in 2009. Since its inception, the project has screened and vaccinated close to seven thousand people across the length and breadth of the country with the help of health professionals from MDS Lancet Laboratories. Okyeame Kwame in an interview with the media said he hopes to spread the project to other parts of the country in an effort to kicking hepatitis out of Ghana.

In a related development, as the world marked World Hepatitis day on July 28, a policy document regarding hepatitis was launched at the GNAT hall in Accra. The 29 paged document aims at giving directions as to the provision of quality driven, results oriented, client focused and affordable Viral Hepatitis prevention and control services in order to improve the health status of all people living with, and at risk of viral hepatitis in Ghana. Okyeame Kwame used the occasion to charge all Ghanaians to acquire and read the document and understand its content so as to adopt a positive approach towards the fight against hepatitis.
