West Hills Mall promises Ghanaians unforgettable Christmas experience

Mall Manager, Mr Jonathan Lotter was joined by celebrity musician, Feli Nuna and actress Khareema Aguira among others, to respectively deliver the nine lessons selected for the night.

Christmas and holiday festivities swung into top gear at West Hills Mall, Ghana’s leading family shopping and recreational Centre at the weekend when an inspiring line-up of giants in Ghanaian choral music performed on one bill in the Centre’s 2016 Carols Night.

All day long on Saturday, the mall had been engulfed in a delightful celebratory ambience invoked by incessant live out-of-station broadcasts by Joy FM, colourful children’s games and entertainment on the forecourt and the breathtaking open West Hills Mall–Chicken Inn Table-tennis Tournament which featured pros from the National Table Tennis Association.

The carols night with nine lessons featured acclaimed forerunners in choral music, namely the Winneba Youth Choir, the Oguaa Youth Choir, the Tesano Youth Choir, Joyful Harp Chorale and the Orthodox Choir and had Celebrities, Tenants and staff reading the lessons. The Abibigroma Drama Troupe was there to give the audience memorable interludes of kaleidoscopic enactments of the birth of Christ.

The audience, mostly patrons, customers, tenants, shop attendants and revellers chasing fun and excitement, looked on spellbound as the youthful ladies and gents took turns to display the brand of vocal showmanship and stagecraft which makes them veritable leaders in choral music in the country.

“Wow! Now we all know that the 2016 Christmas is indeed here! What we’re (me and my wife) are witnessing here this evening passes for the official launch of Christmas in Ghana,” said a mesmerised adult shopper who refused to take a minute to discharge his trolley-load of shopping in his car for fear of missing part of the action.

But Mall management describes the excitement of the weekend as merely a tip of the iceberg.  Joy FM’s Live OB broadcasts will resume on Thursday, Dec 22 and will feature lots of giveaways for shoppers until Christmas Eve while just yesterday, the West Hills Mall Santa Grotto opened to the public and can be visited every day until January 2, 2017.

“The excitement is endless, from now till the end of January. On December 26th, the mall will turn red as Vodafone will host the final draw of their consumer promotion here; while the Tagoe Sisters will have a live gospel concert on Christmas Day,” said Michael Oduro-Konadu, Marketing Manager at West Hills Mall.

Mr Oduro-Konadu disclosed further that from today until next Tuesday (Dec 27) the shopping ambience at the mall will be spiced up with live piano/organ recitals, while on Boxing Day and Dec 30, the mall will host a massive Karaoke session which would be transmitted live on Pluzz FM.
