5 teenagers in court over alleged burglary, stealing

The ages of the teenagers who are students ranged between 11years to 14 years, and they live at Ayobo, a suburb of Lagos.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Raphael Donny, told the court that the offences were committed on April 23 at Comfort Ayeluina St., Ayobo, Lagos.

Donny said that the students went to the residence of one Mr Mohammed Olajire and burgled his room and stole N85,000.

Donny said that it was one of the neighbours who sighted the teenagers that raised an alarm.

“The children were arrested in their different houses, “ he said.

The offences contravened Sections 285, 307 and 410 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

They all denied committing the offences.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Davies Abegunde, granted all the defendants bill in the sum of N30,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until May 24 for mention.
