The incident is one in a list of brutal assault and harassment perpetrated by the Biafra agitators who are mostly youths. Bridget Anurika Eze, a staff of the  National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has written an account of how a company of herself and some work colleagues were intimidated by the IPOB supporters.

Eze expresses in shock how a group of violent youths who are strong believers in the secession cause almost burnt them alive because they didn't have a Biafra flag in a vehicle conveying them to an undisclosed location.
