51-year-old man arrested while trying to sell a 3-yr-old child

A man who kidnapped a three-year-old child to sell to traffickers has been arrested in Taraba State.

Child Trafficking should be tackled by all

A 51-year-old man in Taraba State, Dalibi Tanko, has been arrested by the state Police Command for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old girl child and trying to sell her to a child trafficker, identified as Uba Idris Shagarda.

According to the acting Commissioner of Police in the state, Bello Ahmad, while parading the suspect, Tanko was arrested by a team of policemen at Mallam Abba ward, Mutun Buyi, and during interrogation, he confessed that he had actually abducted the girl from from one Mallam Babaji of Mallam Abba ward, Mutun-Biyu, and was on his way to sell her to the trafficker.

The kidnapped girl was later identified as Maryam Babaji, a daughter to Mallam Babaji.

Ahmad added that as soon as investigation was concluded, the suspect would be charge to court.
