The Sunyani Magistrate Court “B” have remanded four armed robbers and two serving police officers into prison custody.

Four suspected robbers and two policemen remanded
The suspects Corporal Solomon Adu, Lance Corporal Boniface Asiedu Mensah, Sumaila Zaaki, Abdul Aziz, Amadu Abdulai and Asafo Adjei are believed to be members of a robbery gang that shot dead a Police Constable on June 7, 2016 during an attack on passengers travelling on a mini-bus he was escorting from Kwame Danso to Atebubu.

The suspects Corporal Solomon Adu, Lance Corporal Boniface Asiedu Mensah, Sumaila Zaaki, Abdul Aziz, Amadu Abdulai and Asafo Adjei are believed to be members of a robbery gang that shot dead a Police Constable on June 7, 2016 during an attack on passengers travelling on a mini-bus he was escorting from Kwame Danso to Atebubu.
Meanwhile the pleas of the accused were not taken and are expected to appear before the court on Monday June 27, 2016.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Brong Ahafo Police Command(ASP) Christopher Tawiah the suspects were arrested based on police intelligence.

He added that weapons such as short guns and locally manufactured pistols, together with fake currency were found during a search of a house belonging to Zaaki in Kwame Danso.
The police were also able to uncover 12 rounds of live AK 47 ammunition and live cartridges.
