Congo's president rocked by scandal following viral sex tape of daughter

President Denis Sassou Nguesso described the clip as a fake invention by oppositions determined to hinder his political ambition.

As Newsdze Zimbabwe reports, a boyfriend of the latter had threatened to release the clip if she does not make a payment of $50,000 to him. Claudia however called his bluff which resulted in huge consequences.

The video showed the 50-year-old woman unclad while engaging in a sexual intercourse with the blackmailer who was anonymous throughout the scene. She appeared to have given consent to the philanderer to carry on with the recording based on eye contact.

This is not a new thrill for the first daughter who has had her name mentioned in an earlier scandalous affair. Claudia, an adviser to her father on communication was involved in corruption allegations concerning the purchase of a mansion valued at a sum of $3.4 million in France.

A report by News 24, one of South Africa's media houses saw President Denis Sassou Nguesso dismiss the clip as fake and an attempt by opposition to discredit and prevent him from contesting in the next election.

Nguesso, born on November 23, 1943, has been in power since October 25, 1997.

His first regime as president lasted between 1979 to 1992. Pressures from the international community forced him to introduce multi-party politics in 1990 which led him to be stripped of executive powers after the 1991 National Conference.

He remained only a ceremonial Head of State until Congo's second civil war which began in 1997 and ended in the year 1999. His rebel forces had toppled the control of President Pascal Lissouba allowing him to have absolute power.
