Burglar caught after he fell asleep on duty

A dumb burglar who broke into a home in the dead of night decided to catch some sleep and was caught the next morning.

A dumb burglar who decided to have a little shut eye before resuming for work in the apartment he went to steal, over slept and was caught in the morning spread out on the couch.

Timothy Bontrager, 29, from Sarasota, Florida, USA, had broken into the home of a woman in the night and seeing that a good night's sleep is essential for success in all things, including robbery, laid out on the woman's couch and when she woke up at about 7: 30 am, she was surprised to see him on her couch in her sitting room.

The Florida Police reports that when the woman aroused Bontrager and asked him why he was there, he apologized but instead of him taking he leave, he started pacing around the house.

But when the woman said she was calling the police, the burglar left but when officers arrived at the home an hour later, the victim discovered that her wallet, license, credit cards, cash and personal checks were missing.

Bontrager was arrested a short time when and the stolen items discovered from him.

He was then charged with a burglary of an occupied dwelling and taken to the Sarasota County Jail.
