Students in Somalia will be writing their final national school examination since 1991 after the collapse of the country's central government.

Over seven thousand candidates sat for the exam officially declared open by the Minister of Education, Khadra Bashir Ali and Minister of Information, Mohamed Abdi Hayer in the capital Mogadishu.

Both Ministers inspected the exam centres in the capital city.

gathered that progress was reported in examination centres in other cities like Galkacyo, Adado, Beledweyn, Jowhar and Baidoa.
