A goalkeeper faced the wrath of his club after he conceded a goal while drinking water
A goalkeeper in China chose the wrong time to re-energise himself with a sip of water and paid dearly for it.
Chongqing Lifan goalkeeper Sui Weijie, conceded goal while he was sipping water during a Chinese Suepr League match.
During a game which relegation threatened Lifan needed to win, the goalkeeper's mistake cost them the full points as their opponent, Lianing scored an equaliser seven minutes from time in Sunday’s match.
Chongqing conceded a freekick in the area and Liaoning midfielder Ding Haifeng horridly took the kreekick and before dribbling past a couple of defenders and slotted into the net with the goalkeeper busy quenching his thirst.
The defaulting goalkeeper, Sui Weijie was fined after the game.
He was handed a 50,000 yuan fine and also faces suspension by the club.
“I made a terrible mistake in Sunday’s game and let go a full three points; I won’t repeat the same mistake and will never lose concentration,” Sui Weijieis quoted t say by Xinhua.
