Fed-up? Thai woman protests bad road by bathing in potholes

Ordinarily, citizens will write letters to authorities or complain on TV and radio shows about the bad nature of their roads with action.

But a Thai woman has done the unimaginable in a bid to draw attention to the poor state of roads in her community.

The 25-year-old woman called Palm decided to take a protest bath after having enough of the condition of her hometown’s roads in Mae Ramat district.

She said anytime she drives home from work, the road slows down her vehicle and it is a big problem.

She posted pictures of herself washing her body in a big pothole.

Thai authorities have promised to repair the road after the pictures, which was initially for taken for fun among her circles, went viral.

Palm said there are more than a 100 households in her district that require using this route and it would help them a lot if they were fixed.

Governor of Tak Province ordered for the immediate repair of the road which has began in earnest.

Others have taken inspiration from Palm's audacious act to get their roads reparied.
