Two Men Try To Sell Teenager For Rituals

A 33 year old man connived with a friend to sell a boy for being a burden to him

Two men have been remanded into police custody, by Bibiani Circuit Court, According to for attempting to sell off of a thirteen year boy for ritual.

Reports. the suspects, Mohamed Shaibu 33, and Akwasi Frimpong, 54, were in the process of selling the primary school pupil to potential buyers when police swooped on them upon a tip-off.

According to the reports, Mohammed decided to kill the victim for being a burden on him.

So his accomplice, Frimpong suggested they rather sell him (the victim) off at Sefwi Wiaso in the Western region to make money but unfortunately the buyer was a police informant.

Their initial price according to police was 500,000 but they negotiated to 300,000 which they agreed.

The suspected were apprehended when they brought the boy in exchange of the money.

Bibiani District Police Crime Officer, ASP Prosper Gbagbe in an interview with Nhyira FM’s Naa Amerley said the suspects will be charged with second degree felony.

He said they could face a minimum of five years in prison if found guilty.
