Man turns blind to escape TV license [Video]

With effect from Friday, August 21, 2015, Ghanaians are expected to start paying the new television licensing fees.

Because of poor funding at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), government has concluded to charge GHc 36 as Television license fees.

Major (Rtd) Don-Chebe on the Citi Breakfast Show said his outfit has been unable to deliver quality services due to poor funding.

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) will soon resume the collection of Television License Fees to ensure that it is better placed financially to fulfil its mandate as a public broadcaster.

A man intentionally went  blind when an officer knocked his door to collect a TV license fee.
