Ibrahim Abiola killed a grandmother and her daughter and fled the scene. He is currently in police detention after his father handed him over.
It could be recalled that undefinedreported the story of the accident which a Twitter user, @chubbydick, narrated.
Chubbydick had narrated that a drunk driver who seemed to be returning from the club had knock a grandmother, her pregnant daughter and two-year-old daughter to death.
According to Chubbydick's story, the three family members were on their way back from a vigil when the drunk driver smashed into them at Unity Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
Contrary to our initial report as narrated by Chubbydick, new reports have emerged that only two died from the crash, not three.
60-year-old grandmother, Olawunmi Omoyajowo and her two-year-old granddaughter, Ayomide Adeyemi, died from the accident while the pregnant daughter, Ibuken did not die.
The family of three was coming back from a vigil at the Celestial Church of Christ when they were knocked down a few distance from the church.
Pregnant Ibukun who survived with a broken leg, had her baby delivered by an emergency caesarean section at the Adefemi Hospital in Ikeja.
Ibrahim Abiola, the drunk driver was detained by the police on Thursday, January 23, after his father handed him over.
“The driver is already in our custody. His father brought him to the station. We have already commenced investigation into the matter,” the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu revealed.
