Robbers attack Vodafone shop, steal over GHC 13,000

Armed men on Monday morning robbed a retail shop of Vodafone Ghana Limited of an amount of GHC 13,000 at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

 

A batch of armed robbers allegedly attacked and robbed a Vodafone Ghana retail shop at Koforidua in the the Eastern Region.

The robbers, who were reportedly dressed in multicolored attire, robbed the shop at the SSNIT Plaza of GHC 13,000. According to the shop attendant, they entered the shop under the pretense of coming to purchase airtime from here.

According to Victoria Agyemang, the two men carried a knife and a gun and insisted she chooses between her life and granting their demands.

“I opened the glass door to serve them as I serve all customers but when they entered…they pushed into my office and demanded that I give them money…,” she said.

After a knife was put to her throat and a gun pulled as well, she reluctantly opened the safe of the retail shop and the robbers made away with the money.

The robbers also escaped with a mobile phone and a laptop.

The traumatized Miss Agyemang said she can identify the robbers ‘since one of them looks familiar.’
