A Jealous boyfriend was so envious of the attention his girlfriend gave to her puppy that he tried to drown it.
When he was giving him a bath, he became agitated and held the dog’s head under the water until he was unconscious. He said he was jealous of his partner’s contact with the dog.

Jeff Taylor, representing Bruce, said the defendant had a troubled childhood, had anxiety and mental health issues, and was a vulnerable adult. He also told the court Bruce was remorseful.
Bruce was sentenced to 16 weeks in a young offenders’ institute and was banned from owning animals for life.
