The teenager (name withheld) stabbed the 23-year-old man, Kofi Amoako, to death when he allegedly tried to rape her on an orange farm, after she had earlier turned down a proposal from the deceased.

According to the Daily Graphic, the student is said to have stabbed her rapist, in the stomach and on the neck while he was in the act of abusing her sexually her on an orange farm

The Oda Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police Mr Ebenezer Ampofo, said on Saturday, February 19, 2015, Amoako proposed love to the victim but she rejected the proposal and reported the matter to her parents.

He said around midday that day, Amoako met the victim, who also sold oranges, on an orange farm at Abaam and allegedly attacked her, forcibly removed her clothes and raped her.

Mr Ampofo said while Amoako was engaged in the sexual act, the victim mustered courage and stabbed him in the upper abdomen.

He said Amoako, who was bleeding, got up immediately and had wanted to retaliate but the victim, who was still wielding the kitchen knife, quickly stabbed him again on the neck.

According to Mr Ampofo, Amoako ran into a bush, while the victim, who was traumatised, screamed for help.

He said when some Good Samaritans rushed to her rescue, she narrated her ordeal to them and showed them where her rapist had passed.

He said the rescuers traced Amoako and found him dead in a pool of blood.

He stated that the rescue team arrested the victim and sent her to the Kade Police Station to assist in investigations.

Mr Ampofo said Amoako’s body had been deposited at the St Dominic’s Hospital at Akwatia pending autopsy.

He concluded by saying the teenager will be arraigned before the court after investigations are completed.
