In this part of the world, some people see male children as the true test of a man’s capabilities, while female children are, well, seen as liabilities. Not me anyway!

Who cares more for parents, sons or daughters?
I have seen daughters who have turned out to be the ones taking care of their parents while the sons think of the immediate families first, before their aged parents.

Such people believe that the girl child will get married one and become responsible to another family, abandoning their parents in their old age. In some tribes, a wife can actually be thrown out of the house for failing to bear male children - (as if she is the one that plants the babies in her womb in the first place).
Be that as it may, I have seen daughters who have turned out to be the ones taking care of their parents while the sons think of the immediate families first, before their aged parents.
