"Dear Pulse,
Would you resign from your job if your wife earns more than you do?
Would you resign from your job if your wife earns more money than you do and the company policy stipulate one of you must leave?
I am Gabriel from Port Harcourt. I have been reading for a long time now and like the way you readers respond to teasers you put up everyday.
Now is my turn to seek the advice and I hope I will get some good responses.
I met my wife five years ago in one of Nigeria's biggest oil companies and after dating for a year, we got married.
When we met, she was some few steps ahead of me but the difference in our salaries was quite insignificant and we moved along quite well.
But over the years, she has gotten promoted quite rapidly and now, she is a very senior manager and her salary is abut six times what I receive.
But I am not angry that she is being promoted so fast. The problem is that my wife has suddenly become haughty and proud. She talks to me anyhow and even treats me like trash. She goes and comes at anytime she likes, with the excuse of management meetings, official duties and all.
The other day, she told me to my face that if I do not like the fact that she is my boss, I could resign from my job. She also said if I am no more comfortable in the marriage, she would be willing to give me a divorce.
To worsen the matter, there is a new policy in the office that if a couple work in the same office, one should resign and my wife is insisting that I be the one to resign.
I am seriously
I want your readers to tell me what to do here.
Gabriel,
Port Harcourt."
Dear readers, on Morning Teaser today, we ask you, as usual, to give Gabriel your invaluable advice.
