Woman Arrested For Allegedly Murdering Her Puppy

A 56-year-old woman in Florida is suspected of allegedly drowning a 2-week-old puppy in a Nebraska airport bathroom so she could board a plane.

Grand Island Police Sgt. Stan Steele says Cynthia V. Anderson of Edgewater, Florida, was denied access to a flight last Friday at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport because her puppy was so young and not properly be contained.

Speaking with the Grand Island Independent, Steele says she tried to conceal the Doberman in her carry-on bag. But she was seen later entering a bathroom before another woman reported finding a dead Doberman puppy in the toilet.

Steele says the Central Nebraska Humane Society conducted an autopsy on the puppy which revealed it cause of death was drowning.

Anderson was arrested on animal abuse charges and has since been detained.
