The troubles of Ugandan singer, Desire Luzinda, will not go away anytime soon as she has been arrested and detained by the police in that country for her alleged complicity in procuring a fake passport for her estranged Nigerian boyfriend, Frankil Emuobor.
Ugandan singer, Desire Luzinda, in trouble for securing fake passport for Nigerian lover
The troubles of Ugandan singer, Desire Luzinda, seems not to be over as she has now been arrested for allegedly helping her estranged Nigerian boyfriend secure a fake passport.
Reports from Uganda Vision say that Luzinda who also goes by the name Rachael Nancy, was arrested moments after she had alighted from a Kenya Airways flight at Entebbe International Airport and whisked to the police's Special Investigations Division (SID), in Kireka, a city suburb, for interrogation and to record a statement.
The arrest comes after the singer who has been in the middle of a storm following the release of her nude photographs, repeatedly snubbed earlier police summons with regard to the passport issue.
A police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, confirmed the arrest:
"Luzinda has been under probe and police wanted to establish under which circumstances she (Luzinda) obtained sh24m from a Cavendish University lecturer, Jimmy Alemiga, who claims she has failed to pay back.
Luzinda is also under probe for procuring a passport for her ex-Nigerian boyfriend who reportedly leaked the nude pictures on social media."
Two weeks ago, the online news outlet reported that Emuobor had been arrested and charged for possessing a fake Ugandan passport but he has since come out to say he was not arrested, while still vowing to deal with his ex-lover by releasing new sex tapes involving the two of them.
