Two Persons Busted For Selling Drug To A Police Officer

The police say a woman selling drugs made a big mistake that landed her in jail when she mistakenly called an Albuquerque police detective.

KOB-TV reports that 30-year-old Renea Lucero was arrested last week when she called the detective at his department-issued cell phone and made the officer an unexpected offer.

Court documents say the detective knew Lucero from a prior criminal case. But the report says he didn't think Lucero realized who she had dialed.

The officer then set up a drug bust. The detective says Lucero pulled the heroin out of her bra during a sting.

Lucero was arrested on trafficking charges. It was not known if she had an attorney at the time of report.

In a related story a man who failed to know his customer also got him busted for selling drugs to another police officer.

Perhaps if the Butte man did some”know your customer” he won’t have been arrested over the weekend after reportedly offering to sell marijuana to an off-duty police officer.

Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff Ed Lester says 32-year-old Leroy Hopke approached the officer and his wife as they left a store on Friday night. The officer declined the sale and called on-duty police officers from his vehicle.

The Montana Standard reports police arrived and arrested Hopke on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs after finding 11.7 grams of marijuana in his possession.

Lester said Hopke was undone by an "unfortunate marketing situation."
