An 18-year old porter, Emmanuel Aikins, has been jail five years in hard labour, by Tema Circuit Court ‘A’, for having unnatural carnal knowledge with a mentally retarded person.

Prosecutor ASP Miss Eyram Klu told the court presided over by Mrs. Lydia Osei Marfo, that the victim is 20 years and mentally retarded, Adom Online reports.

Miss Klu said on 21 March, 2015, workers of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Tema, had friendly games with Tema Journalists Association at the Tema Sports stadium.

Both the accused and the victim were at the stadium as spectators but the accused later lured the victim into one of the stadium booths and had anal sex with him.

A witness in the case handed the accused to the Community 1 Police and complainant and mother of the victim, Augustina Onyame was issued with Police medical form to send the victim to the hospital.

The accused admitted the offence in his caution statement and said it was the second time he had anal sex with the victim.

The accused was arraigned before Circuit Court ‘A’ after investigations.

Emmanuel Aikins pleaded guilty to the charge at the first hearing on 23 March this year and the case was deferred to Monday March 30 for judgment.
