Witchdoctor's 'truth potion' kills school driver

A school bus driver died after drinking a potion brewed by a "witchdoctor" to prove he had not stolen books.

A witchdoctor’s truth portion has killed a bus driver after he was accused of stealing books form a school in Kenya.

The director of a school in Kisii County of Kenya hired a witchdoctor to determine if the school driver had stolen the books. The school driver was given a truth potion prepared by the witchdoctor- which was supposed to make him say the truth involuntarily.

The school driver however died from the portion sparking huge protests by angry villagers who burnt the school bus and the director’s house.

Describing the incidence to the Daily Nation Newspaper of Kenya, local police Chief Simon Kiragu said that the driver was dared to prove his innocence by drinking the mixture.

“The 33-year old collapsed and died immediately after the drink," Chief Simon Kiragu said.
