Female MP who breastfed baby in parliament beats up male MP

A male and female MP were engaged in a fierce fist fight at the office of Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery

Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel and nominated MP Sarah Korere were forced out of CS Nkaissery’s office and taken to Parliament Police Station after they fought each other.

The two lawmakers had been summoned by the CS to discuss security matters but ended up fighting each other even before they had a meeting with Nkaissery.

Daily Nation quoted Mr. Lempurkel as saying that he was attacked by Ms Korere when he got to the boardroom where he was to wait before meeting Nkaissery.

The Laikipia North MP further revealed that he was also attacked by everyone in the boardroom when he tried defending himself against Ms Korere.

“Ms Korere started insulting me and rose trying to slap me, and when I tried to defend myself, everyone who was in the room turned against me and beat me up. I sustained injuries on my head, wrist and chest. I was taken to Parliament Police Station where I recorded a statement before going to the Karen Hospital,” Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel was quoted by Daily Nation.

Ms Korere and Mr. Lempurkel have been engaged supremacy battles before; the latter, who was nominated on a jubilee ticket, seeks to unseat the former who was elected on an ODM ticket.

The nominated MP has also caused a scene in the past; she made tongues wag like crazy when she breastfed her daughter in parliament in 2013.
