According to WJLA, Keaway Lafonz Ivy, whose stage name is Kealo, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest after being struck by a bullet during his video shoot in a Washington DC car park, on Wednesday night.

According to law enforcement sources, the Southeast Washington man was filming a rap video along with as many 20 people when the gun being used as a prop was fired; Ivy was hit and killed.

Police had said they were questioning numerous people as they investigated the death to try to determine whether it was an accidental shooting or intentional.

By Thursday evening, police were calling the fatal shooting a 'homicide' and Prince George's County Crime Solvers offered a $25,000 reward for information in the case leading to an arrest or indictment.

Most of Kealo's music videos feature the 21-year-old rapper puffing on a cigarette and posing with thick stacks of bills surrounded by an entourage of young men.

Some of the low-budget recordings also feature the musician handling firearms. His Instagram account includes photographs of guns.

Ivy is survived by his young daughter, Skya, and a large extended family.
