Accra Poly Student Grabbed For Stealing 93 Footwear

A court presided over by Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, had charged a student of Accra Polytechnic and a former sales girl with conspiracy and stealing.

A student of Accra Polytechnic,Arnold Konfa, has appeaed before the  Accra circuit court with a Victoria Selasie Davor, former salesgirl, fo allegedly  stealing 93 pairs of footwear belonging to the owner shop at the Accra Shopping Mall.

The suspects were put before a court presided over by Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku and charged  with conspiracy and stealing.

According to the Daily Guide reports, They both pleaded not guilty and had been granted bail in the sum of GH¢10,000 with a surety while the case had been adjourned to April 14, 2015.

Narrating events leading to the arrest of the suspects, the prosecuting officer, Chief Inspector C. Kesse, told the court that the suspects are former employees of the complainant, Caroline Ochieng —who deals in Bata Footwear in Accra and the sole agent of Bata.com in Ghana.

He said Victoria is self-employed while Konfa is a student at Accra Poly, adding that Victoria suddenly stopped working with the complainant in 2014, while the student was fired a few months ago.

According to him, in January 2015 while the complainant was taking stock, she realised that 93 pairs of footwear had gone missing so she suspected her two former employees and lodged a complaint.

In addition, he stated that Victoria and her alleged accomplice were arrested and some of the footwear were found on them.

In addition, he said one Weinbrener boot was also found on the student which the complainant identified as part of the footwear.

The police officer mentioned that both suspects were arraigned after police concluded investigations.
