A couple who felt cheated by the staggering rent bills in the city, have creatively built a two-storey cabin for just £1,000.

Using recycled materials and their own skills, Christian Montez, who completed a masters degree in architecture  and Miss Powell  who studied at the National School of Furniture constructed the rural retreat on the outskirts of Hereford.

With its stylish living room and stunning countryside views, this glass-fronted property measures 16ft by 8ft and standing 12ft tall with a double bedroom, lounge, and even an office.

The couple made the walls and floors out of recycled wooden panels and scavenged scrap yards for material to build the furniture. They even built a porthole window from an old washing machine door.
