“To move there fully and physically, we have to follow a plan and we’ve finished completing that plan and from Monday we will be physically present in the facility,” he said in an interview with Accra-based Joy FM.

He added: “It is one thing being within the facility. But is it one thing also receiving patients and performing surgeries and making sure that all those other services are being rendered.

“So these are the other things that we are putting in place currently so that by Monday physically when you come there you will see that this service is being physically delivered. On daily basis, we are having daily meetings to plan the full transition into the place.”

He rejected claims that the closure of the facility has to do with a standoff between him and the sacked Medical Director, Dr Thomas Anaba, who has vowed not to leave his office because was removed unfairly.

The 420-bed hospital was funded by a $250 million credit facility from the US Exim bank and HSBC Bank and was opened to the public on Wednesday.
