Mass burial to be held for unclaimed bodies

A statement issued and signed by DCOP Dr Samuel Amo-Mensah, Medical Director of the hospital on Monday July 18, said the decision is part of the routine measures to decongest the Police Hospital’s morgue.

“As part of routine measures to decongest the Police Hospital’s morgue, the Police Hospital administration is putting up preparations to embark on mass burial for about 200 unknown and unclaimed bodies,” the statement said.

The statement added that the burial would take place 21 days after the announcement.

“The General Public is hereby being informed to contact the Pathology Department of the Police Hospital for identification of persons who might have not been seen for some time now as part of the search to avert being added to those earmarked for mass burial after 21 days of this announcement,” the statement added.
