How Ghanaian immigrant proved Donald Trump wrong with his humane service

For the love of humanity

The 27-year-old New York National Guardsman entered a burning apartment building in the Bronx at least three times in an attempt to save his co-occupants. He managed to save four people from the fire.

Mensah died while trying to save other residents. He is believed to have saved four people before he died in the fire, which killed 12 people.

Some Twitter users believe that Mensah’s act comes to debunk President Trump’s fears that immigrants are a threat to the country’s peace and security as well as economic prospects.

The US President has been in the news this week for an alleged comment during a high delegation meeting in the Oval Office to address immigration plans.

"Why do we want all these people from 'shithole countries' coming here?" Trump is alleged to have said.

“… a 26-year old soldier raced repeatedly into a burning Bronx apartment building, saving four people before he died in the flames. His name was Pvt. Emmanuel Mensah and he immigrated from Ghana, a country Donald Trump apparently thinks produces very subpar immigrants.”

The Trump administration announced last year it would end the Temporary Protective Status (TPS) designation for Haiti, a move that could affect tens of thousands of Haitian immigrants.
