Ghanaian fashion has seen vast improvement over the past decade.  From the fabulous red carpet photos and the many fashion shows, Ghana is gradually beginning to grasp and appreciate the fashion world and what statement fashion designers in Ghana can make on the international stage. Already some have taken the lead.

She has participated in a number of international fashion shows including Alta Roma Beat of Africa, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa, Durban Fashion Fair, Glitz Africa Fashion Week and Vlisco be your Dream. Mina Evans fuses luxurious fabrics with Ankara, intricate handpicked embellishments and custom textiles to produce timeless feminine, stylish and flawless pieces.

Christie Brown

Christie Brown is a Ghanaian based luxury women’s fashion brand which aims to satisfy the stylish urge of the woman seeking a true taste of neo-African culture.

Christie Brown, infuses modernism into carefully curated traditional African aesthetics that transcend international tastes. Christie won the 2009 Emerging Designer of the Year at the Arise Africa Fashion Week held in Johannesburg.

Jason Boateng

Fashion designers in Ghana: Jason Boateng play Jason Boateng

Jason Boateng is a Ghanaian UK based stylist turned fashion designer. Jason has worked with celebrities including Will.I.Am, Nicki Minaj, Lola Rae, Yvonne Nelson, Iyanya, Nizzy and many more. He started out as a stylist, and has since diversified into designing with his womenswear line and a successful number of collections under his belt.

The Ghanaian designer in an interview disclosed that “he was into fashion at about the age of 5 and he always knew that he wanted to be a fashion designer.”

In talking about what inspires him to create, he sighted labels such as Balmain, Gucci and Tom Ford, who love to do a lot of bead work and detailing. Although expensive and time consuming, he finds it rewarding.



Ghanaian fashion siblings, Dpipertwins have been featured on so many media networks from Huffington Post, Black Enterprise, WWD, Elle SA, Bella Naija, Essence, Ameyaw Debraw, Today’s Black Woman Style Report, Amsterdam Newspaper, and The New York Daily Newspaper, as well as making TV appearances on the Rachael Ray Show, NBC’s Today Show, and Good Morning America.

Celebrities like Chrisette Michele, DJ Cuppy, Angela Simmons, Leila Lopes, Bianca Golden, Charli Baltimore,Karen Civil, and Towanda Braxton have all been seen rocking their designs.

Bee Arthur


Bee Arthur is an illustrious Ghanaian Fashion designer whose brilliant career spans over 17 years. She took the fashion world by surprise when she won the KORA All Africa Fashion Award in 2001 in Sun City and since then Bee Arthur’s eclectic collections have graced the runways of many Fashion capitals on the continent and beyond.
