Fashion Forum Ghana to hold talk series on 1st June 2017

Fashion Forum Ghana (FFG) aims to build on and continue this educational path with its quarterly fashion talk series which gathers fashion professionals to attain informative education, share ideas, and discuss important topics that are significant to building Ghana’s Fashion Industry.

Fashion Forum Ghana, a subsidiary of Fashion Forum Africa (FFA) will hold its quarterly fashion talk series on Thursday 1st June 2017 at the British Council Accra from 5:00 pm to 8 pm.

The event which will be the 6th series will bring together various stakeholders within the fashion education industry in Ghana to discuss issues relevant to the promotion of fashion education in Ghana and West Africa.

Discussing the topic of “Brain Drain”, the panelists will among other things speak on the issues of designers studying outside of Ghana and how we can reverse that and promote institutions based in Ghana and West Africa to train more designers.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Ivy Prosper featuring seasoned heads of various leading fashion institutions in Ghana such as Dr. Ebenezer Kofi Howard from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology – KNUST, Mrs. Vivian Biney-Aidoo of Accra Technical University Department of Fashion, Mrs. Fabiola Opare-Darko of Joyce Ababio College of Creative Design – JACCD, Ms. Yvonne Ntiamoah of Radford University College and Mr. Rajesh Pillai of Blue Crest College - School of Fashion & Design.

This discussion will bring to bear the talents within the fashion institutions and how these institutions are helping to shape and maintain such talents within the fashion industry.

There will also be special presentations from training institutions such as Sleek Fashion Institute of Technology & Creativity by Nora Bannerman, Adzedu of Shapes by Tetteh Adzedu, Elike Finishing School by Kofi Nkansa, MHOSENU Limited by Margaret Ofori and Atta by Pearl Amoah where students do acquire additional practical experiences before branching out on their own.
