Ghana Fashion & Design Week has announced event dates and plans set for 23 – 25 October, 2015 in Ghana’s capital City of ACCRA.
The pioneering international fashion and design business event comes back this year, packed with exciting business activities themed “FASHION RE:STATED”, with a Trade Exhibition showcase curated under the name “CONTEMPORARY AFRICA” running alongside designers catwalk presentations, and Fashion business and Knowledge transfer seminars with a line up of industry experts.
The ETHIKHA platform will highlight ethical fashion and social impact designers’ collections and products driving sustainability through fashion in Africa. The anticipated event will turn the world’s focus on Accra, as an emerging and growing fashion business capital. The objective this year is to Re-State fashion as a business in Ghana, and bring to the fore the importance of creativity and design innovation as an essential element for Ghana’s creative industry development.
GFDW NEW TALENT SPOT™ initiative space focused on developing nascent new graduates in fashion, design and creative led entrepreneurs will welcome to the space 3 new best fashion design graduates of (2015) from Radford University College.
Head of Fashion Department of RUC, Yvonne Ntiamoah, said “ We are encouraged to be in partnership with GFDW business platform, creating the essential link for best new graduates to continue their creative journey into becoming entrepreneurs. GFDW welcomes 2nd Image Academy at the New Talent Spot™ space, with a collaboration that gives final year students with creative Hair & Make-Up background the opportunity for external experience with the platform alongside industry experts.
We are thrilled to present STYLE & STEEL as part of the event activities this year, turning our focus on MEN behind the wheels, as we welcome Mercedes-Benz to the event as a sponsor, in partnership with Silver Star Auto Ltd., Ghana.
