DIY recipe How to make egg-in-a hole

1. Slice of bread

2. Egg

3. Salt

4. Butter

6. Black pepper to taste ( Optional)


  • Cut a round hole in the center of a slice of bread with a biscuit or cookie cutter.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the bread and cook until it’s toasted.
  • Flip, adding more butter to the pan.

  • Crack an egg into  a bowl
  • Drop the egg gently in the hole.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook until set but still soft.
  • Serve warm.
