Actor revealed his cheat meal—and it sounds unbelievably delicious

Nothing will stop him from enjoying a treat—even when it's past midnight.

For Dwayne'The Rock' Johnson, those days are Sundays. In an Instagram video, The Rock revealed that his most recent cheat meal consisted of huge banana chocolate chip pancakes—seven to be exact. (In the past, he's gone for French toast and apple pie.)

Although it was past midnight and he had to get up in five hours, he said he refused to go to bed until he enjoyed the decadent treat.

“I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve gotta have everything perfectly aligned before I eat my cheat meal,” he said, as Chuck Berry played in the background.

Aside from listening to good tunes, he said he also has to have good reading material. His weapon of choice? The Hobb spinoff script written by Fast and Furious screenwriter Chris Morgan. While The Rock didn't give away any secrets for the upcoming movie with Jason Statham, he did say the script was "so badass."

“Thank you Chris, thank you Chuck, thank you pancakes,” he said. “In about an hour, I’m gonna have the sugar sweats and be in a car coma, but I refuse to be defeated.”

Even with a few pancakes, The Rock is able to stay on track because of two motivating factors: gratitude and hunger. After a training session on Saturday night, he told fans in an Instagram video that the number one question he's asked everywhere he goes around the world is how he stays so motivated.

"Number one will be gratitude. I try to find a way to be grateful for every single thing I have every single day," he said. "Wins, losses, loved ones, you name it." That explains why he was thankful even for pancakes.

The other thing that keeps him striving for more is hunger—and not the pancake-eating kind, this time.

"You always hear people say, 'Well, it's about being number one, about being at the top,'" he said. "Or, how about this, you always gotta find somebody out there who's gonna work harder. Well, I don't know that, that might be bullshit. But I know no one is going to be hungrier than I am."
