Ghanaians are generally know as huge shoppers when they go on vacation and while Dubai is the perfect shopper's haven, there are also several other interesting things you can get up to while in the Emirates.

Here are 7 fun things you absolutely must do as a Ghanaian visiting Dubai.

  1. Go on a safari: No trip to the Emirates is complete without a trip to the safari and the customary 'desert selfie'. Traditionally, the safari trips start off with an extremely bumpy ride to the camp (it's advisable not to eat just before going on this ride as the bumpy ride can make one feel nauseous). Upon arrival at camp there are several activities lined up including belly dancing. In all, be sure to try out the henna tattoos, for the ladies and also enjoy a camel ride when you arrive at the safari camp.

  2. Go clubbing in Kiza: If you're looking to bump to some good ol' African music while in the Emirati    heartland, then Kiza is your best bet. With a African resident DJ, Kiza offers the latest and hottest Ghanaian & Nigerian tracks so go in with your dancing shoes.

  3. Visit the Jumeira beach: For a feel of beach culture in Arabia, take a trip to the Jumeira beach.

  4. Go on a road trip to Abu Dhabi...and visit Waterworld: Waterworld, as the name suggests is a water theme park located in Abu Dhabi which has several dozen rides and activities you can try out. Remember to go with a swim suit as virtually all the rides require that you're dressed in swim wear. Afterwards, be sure to explore the sights and sounds of Abu Dhabi.

  5. Visit Ferrari World and go on the fastest roller coaster in the world: Ferrari World, which is a short distance from Waterworld, is home to the fastest roller coaster in the world.

  6. Go shopping at the souk: Forget the shopping malls, the souks are local open spaced markets, not unlike what we have here in Nigeria. There are great bargains to be found here, not to mention an interesting mix of culture.

  7. Go on a dhow cruise: Imagine enjoying a meal as you coast along the Emriati coastline. That's what dhow cruises offer, in addition to other line up of interesting acitivies.
