Almost every day when I walk around my trendy Brooklyn neighborhood, I see at least one person wearing a pair of Urban Outfitters BDG jeans.

Whether it be a ripped pair, some overalls, or basic mom jeans, it feels like these pants are essential to every stylish, young Brooklyn urbanite’s uniform. I know why: I own a pair, and they fit my thick thighs better than any other pair I've ever worn.

Like many women, I have a problem where my jeans always—and I mean always—wear out and rip between the thighs. In college, I thought my thighs were abnormally thick and my mom seriously questioned my walking posture because I had to replace my jeans every single year.

The quality of my jeans wasn’t the problem. My aunt works in the Montreal fashion industry, so every Christmas, she would bring me five or six pairs of Genetic and True Religion jeans.

After two years of heavy wear, they have only gotten better with age, showing very minimal signs of wear and tear in between my thighs.
