12 things to buy for your partner this Christmas

Head to toe treat, pay for a day’s pampering at a Spa; think a full body massage, a manicure, a pedicure and all the other goodness you can get at a spa.

It’s that time of year when we are encouraged to buy gifts for our loved ones and make them feel appreciated for being a part of our lives. Getting a gift for your partner can however get tricky.

If you have been together for a while, you don’t want to get predictable or repetitive. We’ve all dated that person who gets you a bottle of non-alcoholic wine during Christmas year after year.

If your relationship is pretty new, it equally hard to figure out what gift your partner would really be excited about. We can get anxious from overthinking what might be the ideal gift or from realizing that we haven’t put enough thought into getting the right gift. Whichever situation you may find yourself in, here are some ideas to consider getting for your partner this Christmas.

  • Tickets to a musical concert, especially if their favourite artist is on the bill.
  • A weekend getaway, go to a place you don’t usually go to and just enjoy each other’s company.
  • Dress his/her feet up, take them to a shoe shop and ask them to pick out a new pair of shoes or two if you can afford it.
  • Head to toe treat, pay for a day’s pampering at a Spa; think a full body massage, a manicure, a pedicure and all the other goodness you can get at a spa.
  • Fill up your car tank or rent a car and go for a road trip, there are many exciting places to see around Ghana.
  • Pay for a complete makeover, we are entering a new year, find out if your partner wants to get a new look
  • Get a room at a fancy hotel and spend the night.
  • Travel around the world through food, find the best restaurants in your town for different exotic dishes from Ethiopian to Turkish.
  • Get tickets to a game for someone who loves a particular team.
  • Hire a chef to cook for you and your partner.
  • Pay for a year’s subscription at a gym for both of you.
  • Go watch a movie together, in 3D if your partner hasn’t tried that yet.

Giving your partner a gift has to come from your heart and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Whether you are giving a gift on special occasions and for no reason at all, it is a reminder to partners that you care about them. For no reason gifts are the best because it is often unexpected.

You see a shirt and you think it would look good on her or perhaps you chance on the latest book by his favourite author and you just get it for him.

Whatever your budget maybe this Christmas, remember to complement your gift with the most important things like spending time together and showing how much you love them in non-monetary ways.
