Plans have begun to adapt a work of George R.R Martin to Television

There are plans to bring another work of the 'Game of Thrones' author, George R. R. Martin, to the big screen.

Cinemax, a sister company of HBO has ordered a pilot based off the author's noir story "The Skin Trade," which was originally published as part of horror fiction compilation Night Vision 5back in 1989 and reprinted several times in various forms over the years, including as a graphic novel.

Martin, who made this known on his personal blog, said:

"This being Hollywood, of course, you never know where things will end... but if they like the script, we'll shoot a pilot, and if they like that, hey, who knows, maybe we'll get a series on the air," Martin wrote, leveling with his fans.

The story's main character is a private investigator named Randi Wade whose investigation into a string or murders leads her into the world of werewolves and, subsequently, into the life of werewolf Willie Flambeaux.

I have always thought there was a TV series (or maybe a feature film) in Willie Flambeaux and Randi Wade," Martin wrote. "Those of you who know the story of DOORWAYS, my ill-fated ABC pilot from the early 90s, may even recall that it was SKIN TRADE that I was actually trying to sell back in 1991, when I flew out to LA for a round of pitch meetings. So we're a few decades late."

Kalinda Vasquez, the writer of hit TV series, , has been tapped to write the script.

Martin said while he "would have loved" to write and run the show, "that was never really in the cards."
