Insurgent succeeds at bringing down Disney's fairytale hit, Cinderella, from the number 1 spot.

The movie, which is based on novelist Veronica Roth’s Divergent series, topped with $54 million in the U.S. and Canada.
The figure comes slightly less than the $54.6 million earned last year by its prequel, Divergent.
'Insurgent' beat Disney’s live-action film Cinderella, which is now second place with a domestic weekend gross of $34.9 million.
