Paramount to re-release movie for 50th anniversary of historic march

'Selma' movie will be re-released by Paramount pictures to mark the 50th anniversary of the historic march.

Paramount Pictures will re-release the  Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning film, Selma, to mark the 50th anniversary of the historic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

Selma won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for 'Glory' by Common and John Legend. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

Selma is a 2014 historical drama film directed by Ava DuVernay and written by Paul Webb. It is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches led by James Bevel, Hosea Williams, and Martin Luther King, Jr. of SCLC and John Lewis of SNCC.

'Selma' stars David Oyelowo, Tom Wilkinson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Alessandro Nivola, Giovanni Ribisi, Common, Carmen Ejogo, Lorraine Toussaint, Tim Roth and Oprah Winfrey.
