Lieutenant Uhura star, Nichelle Nichols suffers mild stroke

When contacted, a rep for the 82-year old actress says she's awake and resting comfortably at an L.A. hospital.

Nichelle Nichols, the star actress popular for the character, Lieutenant Uhura in , has been hit by mild stroke.

According to a report by TMZ, Nichols was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, June 3, 2015 after suffering a mild stroke in her home.

This news is coming weeks after another character from the movie, Grace Lee Whitney, popular for her character, as Yeoman Janice Rand, Captain Kirk's assistant on the original series of Star Trek, passed on at the age of 85.

Nichols appeared on both the "Star Trek" TV show and six of the movies, the last one being "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."
