According to him, although the incumbent president, Bice Osei Kufour (Obour) has contributed positively to the union, some people would have to step in to do more.

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale says he will contest for MUSIGA presidency

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has declared him intention to contest for the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) presidency years to come.

“That’s what I have been discussing with the MUSIGA president. He has played his part but I believe he needs another hand,” he answered when asked if he was hoping to become president of MUSIGA.

Obour retained his seat as president MUSIGA after delegates converged at the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua on Saturday to elect executives who will steer the affairs of the union for the next four years.

Obour polled 88 votes to beat his contenders Gyedu Blay Ambulley and Appiah Dankwa (Appietus) who polled 22 and 18 votes respectively.

During the campaign period, Obour said he deserved a second term because his administration had chalked a number of successes. Ambulley and Appietus on the other hand discredited him saying, he is not worthy of a re-election as he had let the union down.
