Stonebwoy is not a chart topper in Ghana - Shatta Wale

According to Shatta Wale, his arch-rival who was the only Ghanaian musician nominated for this year’s BET Awards doesn’t have hits or tops charts anymore in the country and as a result lost his relevance in the industry.

The 32-year-old singer and producer made the statement Tuesday on “The Pundit” show on GH One TV.

According to Shatta Wale, his arch-rival who was the only Ghanaian musician nominated for this year’s BET Awards doesn't have hits or anymore in the country and as a result lost his relevance in the industry.

The “Ayoo” hitmaker told George Quaye, the host, that: “They (industry players) are killing our industry.”

And dropped the bomb: “If all the kids are singing Shatta Wale’s songs and CNN says ‘who is your top artiste?’ And because you feel Stonebwoy is your favourite and push him there whiles you know he is not topping charts, not getting hits in the country and not making any moves anymore, we will be stagnant.”

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have recently been in the news for several reasons. The root of their never-ending drama is this year’s BET Awards – which snubbed the 'local champion', Shatta Wale.
