Producer aims high at 2016 Ghana Music Awards UK

Dr Ray was nominated in the “Music Producer of The Year” category for his work “Ye Wo Krom” – a track performed by Atom. He faces tight competition from Mobeatz, Bisa Kdei, Kaywa, Beatz Dakay, Kin Dee and Shatta Wale in his category.

In an exclusive interview with Pulse.com.gh, the sound engineer who has produced countless hits in the industry expressed his happiness for his nomination. “I feel happy for this nomination and proud my works are being recognised now,” he told Pulse.com.gh

When asked about his chances of winning from his group, Dr Ray declared that he’s already a winner. “I already know I am a winner,” he said adding that “because ‘Ye Wo Krom’ was a great hit worldwide and even used by Apple Music.”

Despite declaring himself a winner in advance, he urged his fans to vote for him. “I urge them to vote massively for this award because without them it wouldn't happen,” Dr Ray concluded.

"Ye Wo Krom" is a 2015 hit song produced by Dr Ray. It won the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards' "Hiplife Song of the Year" award and also found itself on the international mainstream market when Apple played it at its 2016 World Wide Developer's Conference held in San Francisco, California.

This year’s Ghana Music Awards UK ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 5, at the Gaumont Palace formerly known as Dominion Centre, 9 The Broadway Wood Green London N22 6DS.
